Saved my son's baby photos from a dead laptop

The day before Thanksgiving Dan saved my son's baby photos from a dead Dell Inspiron laptop. He was courteous and very helpful. He did it right on the spot even though he was busy because, I am sure the look on my face expressed deep terror. LOL. Highly recommend to all. Thank you so much.

WHAT should I use for a BACKUP?

Every week I find someone that does not have a proper backup, and there is no way to retrieve the files because the hard drive is dead (without sending it to a data forensic specialist that costs thousands), What do I recommend for a backup? Drivers are missing when I reinstalled windows or other driver issues.

Right click on "Computer" or "My Computer". From here click on "Manage". In this windows you should see "Device Manager" . If there are drivers missing, corrupt or any type of hardware malfunction you will see it here in items that have a yellow or red icon next to them. To fix this here is what to do. (assuming your hardware has not failed, if it has failed you will need to replace.) Go to the computer manufacturers support site. Ex. support.dell.com. You can find this by searching in google... How to change power options like sleep, hibernate and lid close?

In your computer panel in Windows there is a icon for Power Options. Here you can truly customize your computer by adjusting what it does when you close the lid, hit the power button, or what it does when you click shut down. For me, I like my laptop to stay on when I close the lid where some people like it to sleep and others to have it shut down the computer.
