Tacos Tuesday is Great!

Tequila's is definitely not a place you would travel far distances for. But when you are looking for a place near work that has tacos for $0.99... well, you go to Tequila's on Tuesday. Taco Tuesday is definitely the "good" part of this Mexican restaurant. You can get chicken, steak, or carnitas on either a corn or flour tortillas, and they are quite big and quite good. On Tuesdays, you also can get Bud Light drafts for $2 and Margaritas and Pina Coladas for $2.50. And you can get the drinks and tacos ALL DAY! They have their regular happy hour, too, Monday through Friday 4-7pm with good drink and food specials. How's the rest of the food?? Eh.

So what's the bad?? The service. It's like they don't seem interested in your order or your experience... or their tip. So get your tacos and go!

Tacos Al Carbon were great!

This is my first time to write a review for a restaurant however I was pleasantly impressed by the food! I am Mexican and I tend to be picky about Mexican restaurants. The food here was authentic and made fresh! At first glance it looks a little shady however the service and quality makes up for it. Luz was our waitress and she was awesome! I asked her to have the bar tender put less sweet and sour mix and more tequila and she personally made the margarita herself. I would recommend asking for margarita with a specific tequila or one of thier specialties. For dinner, I had the Chicken Tacos Al Carbon and they were delicous and my friend had the Shrimp Enchiladas and she loved them. It is not a place to people watch or be seen but if you want a quite place to talk, smoke, eat, drink and laugh sit in the patio.

Burbank Location Only

I never use those coupons that are sent in bulk, but a Carne Asada dinner for .99 cents with purchase of another seemed like a good deal. The atmosphere is generic but not unpleasant. The wait staff courteous and prompt. But on to the food. We ordered the quesadilla and guacamole appetizers. The guacamole was simple and tasty, the nutty, buttery taste of the avocado and hint of citrus was very refreshing. I'm so tired of these guacamoles padded with onions, tomatoes and cilantro that just defeat the avocado. The quesadilla was made with a mellow Mexican cheese and served with a dab of guacamole and sour cream on the side. Once again the simplicity of preparation cut through, can't tell you how many times I've ordered a simple quesadilla and had it ruined by swimming in some sauce.
The carne asada was no disappointment either, tender and juicy and cooked to order. The sides were good too. The beans and rice very tasty. Came with a cheese enchilada too. The torts were like store bought, but I know of only two places that actually have home made torts so I can't fault then for that.
All in all a very nice Mexican home style dinner at a reasonable price.
