Honest? Try a second time
I took my Camry to this store earlier this year, when it was doing something wierd. Mr Powers asked me to leave the car there and said he would check the car and gave me a quote before any fix. About five hours later, he called and said he had found the problem, and to my surprise, he had also fixed the problem already without my permission. The problem was the spark plug wires, and he replaced with some aftermarket wires he got from a local Carquest store (according to him). He charged me $160 + tax. As a woman I don't know cars much, but I felt it was expensive. Mr Powers explained he only charged $20 for his labor and the parts cost $140, which he had to pay Carquest. Then I paid. However, later I found out by calling a local Carquest store (though not sure if that's the same store he used) that the same wires only cost $40+. I don't blame mechanics to make some money from parts, but $100 is just too much in this case, and he was dishonest by saying Carquest charged $140.

I recently took my Nissan Sentra in b/c it was making funny noises. The owner, Bob was so incredibly kind & honest. He only did the work that actually needed to be done, and his total cam out $100 cheaper than what the dealership would have charged. Very nice & dependable man. Hard workers can be hard to find. Take your car here & you won't be dissapointed.

For a few years, I passed by this place every day on my way to work, but I never stopped for anything. Then, one day my timing belt broke, and I literally coasted into Mr. Powers' lot. I was a little nervous because I had never met him, I was desperate, and if he were a dishonest man, he could really rip me a new one. But, luckily Mr Powers is a very honest guy, and his quote for repairing the timing belt was way lower than what the Toyota dealership wanted. Now, I go no where else for repairs, and I tell all my friends and co-workers to see him for repairs. He even gave me advice on what kind of car I should get next (Toyota Avalon).
