Polmanteer Mobil

We have had only good experiences with the Polmanteer shop. From tires to oil changes to brakes, mufflers and other odds and ends, they have been fast, fair and pleasant to deal with. I think we're lucky to have found them!

I enthusiastically recommend this business for anyone needing auto repair work. On May 13 I called AAA for roadside service as my car wouldn't start in Penn Yan. Gavin arrived quickly, diagnosed the problem, towed the car to their garage, and fixed the car under his original price estimate and faster than the estimated time. The price was reasonable (certainly better than the dealer I was planning to use) and every aspect of the service was courteous and professional. I understand Gavin's father started the business and is now handing it to his son. It appears the business is in good hands, as Gavin has an enthusiastic and honest hard-working attitude. On this call he had a BOCES student shadowing him and he patiently showed the young man the important details of hooking up the car. They use a flat bed to haul the car, which is better than towing it behind the truck. I was even more impressed when I saw that he has a beautiful dog that follows him around the shop. The dog often accompanies him on the back seat in the tow truck but had to be left behind this time since I had a passenger with me and we both needed a ride to the shop. The dog was waiting when we arrived at the shop. You can tell a good man by how much he's loved by his dog!

I had a rim damaged at Polmanteer Auto, and they did not offer any resolution. told me how it was not their fault. the guy who did it didn't even come out to tell me himself. crushed the finish on my rim! they didn't even apologize, they just gave me the run-around. avoid this place if you can.
