Good Company

We had the opportunity to have CQC.inc and the staff complete two home projects for us. The most recent was a demanding job placing slate tile on a 3-story staircase and adjacent floors. The job was difficult, talking many cuts and a lot of planning. The result is stunning! Not only did Cornell's crew complete an excellent job, but they did so in a timely manner. Every day they neatly put away all tools and saws, cleaned up the work area, and made sure the house was safe for us to use. They were always here when they said they were going to be here. They were polite and easy to have in our home. We would highly recommend CQC.inc and the team for any home improvements they might be proposing for you.

Not recommended

We had to have much of what CQC installed redone. They couldn't match a can light in our ceiling and installed 2 new ones that are shallower, so the bulbs are not recessed. I had to research insulating ductwork and tell them what to do. They left garbage in my attic after they were done and I had to ask them to return to get out the old duct and tape scraps. The woodcutting on the wainscoting is ragged where the pipe comes out of the wall; it looks like low-end work. They should have recommended a fitting to cover the gaping hole. The finish carpenter was OK, but the moulding doesn't meet square at the corners. Finally, I caught 2 leaks in the 5 bathroom sinks they installed. The plumber returned and fixed the problems. The 3rd leak occurred a week after the job was "finished" - while we were on vacation. The result was our house flooded and an extra $10,000 of damage and moving out of our house for a week. Our insurance paid but CQC denied responsibility.

If You Like Adventure

CQC can handle most of the basics but very poor on details and listening to the customer. During a house remodel we had to consistently monitor their work to ensure that it was done according to the construction documents. For most of their crews English is a second language and this makes following construction plans even more difficult. Even a year post-construction we are still finding items that were either done poorly or not done per plan. While they do have a few skilled workers, it seems like we got their "C" team for our project. For our tile work we got their "D" team which was through their sister company Tile and Marble Quality Services. Hire them if you like adventure and unneeded stress.‎
