Incompetence
Store manager "Jim" refused to acknowledge the error on the part of a cashier when I purchased a phone card. The card was not activated and without the receipt, I am out $9.99 (unless there was also tax). Jim never consulted the employee and is riding on the technicality of the missing receipt. On top of that, he lied to me about the process of purchasing and activating the card. I am out my money due to an employee error and CVS refuses to help me activate the card. CVS has lost me as a customer. My family will avoid CVS now also. They know I don't make up stories to swindle a retailer. The useful part for me is that I teach in a business school. CVS will be the subject of "management and customer service blunders in a failing economy". Manager "Jim" needs to dress more professionally - dirty t-shirt and jeans doesn't say much for a company that handles your family's medication.
