Kemmerer is a part of Lincoln County in Wyoming known as the Gateway to the West and as the Fossil Fish Capital of the World. Major attractions include Fossil Country Frontier Museum and the Penney's Museum. Each year in the summer season, there is the Fossil Fest. Among the companies in Kemmerer are JC's Woodhaven Log & Lumber and Petals 'N Treasures. Kemmerer is served by the Lincoln County School District Number 1, which includes Kemmerer High School.
