Berkeley Springs, West Virginia (also known as Bath) is the county seat of Morgan County and is located in the Eastern Panhandle of the state. In 2000, the population was 663. Its was at one time a resort area due to its mineral springs. George Washington was a part of Berkeley Springs' history. Attractions in Berkeley Springs include Washington Heritage Trail and the Panorama Overlook. Berkeley Springs holds the Apple Butter Festival annually in October. Berkeley Springs is also home to several parks. Schools include Warm Springs Middle School and Berkeley Springs High School. Famous past residents include inventor James Rumsey and Admiral John M. Johnson.
