Jack's Cozy Cafe
By Sara3 at Citysearch February 19, 2011
If you haven't been to Jack's in the past couple of years, you don't know what good food is. My personal favorite is the Breakfast offerings. This morning my friend and I shared a Farmer's (Something or Other) Special with 2 coffee's for $11.75.....Two very filling breakfasts for less than 6 Bucks each. We had 3 eggs, 2 crisp fried bacon, 2 sausage links, a slice of ham, hot potatoes, 2 slices of toast and 2 pancakes (he even made one of them a potato pancake just for me. My brother and I go alternating Saturdays and are never disappointed with our breakfast. The cook/owner/waiter is very friendly and will make anything you ask him to. If he isn't busy with others he will also stand and chat with you which is probably why they call it Jack's COZY CAFE. Their Friday special is an all-you-can Eat fish fry served beginning at 11:00 in the morning. They also have several single dinner offerings ranging from $10-$15 with adjusted senior prices and proportion sizes. This little touch of Heaven is easy to find it's on the SouthEast corner of 22nd Ave and 80th Street, opposite the neighborhood shopping plaza. Parking is on the street or in adjacent parking lot. Seating is limited, but comfy - go early for Friday Fish Fry so you don't end up waiting out in the cold for a table. The only disadvantage of this food palace is choosing from the ever changing specials listed on the old fashioned chalk boards. This place is not only too good to be true --- it IS true. If you don't believe me, go and find out for yourself. Would I lie to you? ...read more

With a large Italian community, one would expect great pizza in Kenosha, WI. The city has over 30 pizza shops to choose from. While I have eaten at many of the different pizza places in Kenosha and Racine, Tenuta's is the one I always go back to, and by far, it's my favorite pizza in Kenosha. ...read more

Tenuta's once made great pizza that was piled with delicious sauce and toppings. However, in the past couple of years, their pizza has taken a turn for the worst. You'll basically pay 11-16 dollars for a pizza that looks and tastes like a cheap 3.99 frozen pizza bought from a grocery store. If you're looking for a pizza that's worth your money, you're better off staying far away from this place. ...read more

I would have to argue with anyone who didn't like this pizza. They have crusts for all people and all of them are great! The one thing I would love to see is an online menu of some sort. Regardless, the pizza is great and I highly recommend it to everyone! ...read more

Panera Bread

I love panera food and feel that it's a good place to enjoy a nice lunch. However, on recent visits the portion sizes for meat on the sandwiches had been dwindling! I ordered the tuscan chicken and had 2 slices of chicken ( about a chicken nugget worth) on the sadnwich. I couldn't believe it but I was told that is ther serving. Not at other Panera's!! Check your erving size guide again Kenosha! ...read more
