About Yacolt, WA
Yacolt is a town in Clark County, Washington. Its population as of the 2000 consensus is 1,055. Yacolt is home to the Larch Correctional Center for men where the men serve their minimum custody sentences by doing work for the Department of Natural Resources. In 1902, there were only 15 buildings in the town, they all burned down in the Yacolt Burn-- a fire that devastated the town. It was the biggest fire in Washington state history. The largest school district in the area is the nearby Hockinson school district which is only a few miles down the mountain.
