Finding The Right Mortgage People
It is very important that a potential home buyer find the right mortgage broker. Stay away from 800 numbered brokers and work with local mortgage brokers that are in the town where you are buying. Ask other home owners for their opinions and always get two mortgage estimates....go with the gut feeling when making the final selection. Don't always go with the lowest interest rate. Just because you qualify for $200,000 you need not take a mortgage for the max amount....only for what you can afford each month including taxes, insurance and etc. Once a month send in a minimum of half of your normal payment along with your full payment....you can't imagine how fast it will pay off your home....even one week payment would be good. Embarassing Story
Doing the rounds of brokers open houses after our normal Wed meeting found me unlocking what I thought was the correct location. I unlocked the house and proceeded to realize what a dump and mess the house was in...quite odd for someone wanting to show their home. Mark inspected 2 homes for me. He identified major electrical problems with the first home and major roofing problems on the second home. Owner of the first home refused to repair electrical problems, so we went on to the second home. The owner agreed to total tear off and replacement of the roof down to the rafters per Mark's recommendation. I highly recommend Home Improvement Watchdog! ...read more
