Hair loss may not be particularly dangerous or contagious, but a balding hairline is not entirely pleasant. One of the more common, and less expensive, solutions to hair loss is to put on a wig, to hide your lessening hair. Wigs are also great accessories that provide the user with a new look. However, synthetic wigs may get all fuzzy, so here somewigs and hair solutionsto rectify frizzy wigs. Detangling Products Straightener products that work on human hair may also work for synthetic hair. Use your hands to detangle ends slowly, and a wide-hair comb to further smoothen the hair. As much as possible, refrain from using a fine-toothed comb because it might increase hair static, making it even frizzier. You may use a detangling spray but look for indicators such as ‘wig spray’ or ‘hair detangler’ to make sure that they are safe to use on synthetic hair. Spray a small amount over the area you want to straighten, then gently comb over it. If you don’t have a detangling product, you may use fabric softener diluted in water. This reduces static that causes frizz in synthetic fibers. Soak and Wash If your wig is too frizzy to work on when dry, then submerge it in lukewarm water with a little laundry detergent. After a few minutes of soaking it, gently rinse it in lukewarm water. Dab it with a dry towel after rinsing, and let it air-dry. Once dry, use a natural bristle brush before wearing the wig. It is ideal to wash your wig the day before you will wear it, and as far as practicable, try not to wash the wig more than once a week. To maximize washing, apply a gentle shampoo and conditioner on the wig. Prefer ones with a low pH level and contains little to no sulfate. Heat Treatment Before the application of heat treatment, check if your wig is compatible with heat since some wigs burn easily. Look for words like ‘heat resistant’ or ‘heat-friendly.’ When you are not sure, don’t risk. If you decide to apply heat treatment, then opt for the lowest heat setting. As with human hair, overexposure to hair may harm the wig, so don’t hold it over one spot for an extended period. If you want a softer look, then use a hot-air brush. Use it after detangling with a comb or with warm water. Wigs are beautiful hair accessories and are a means to cover your balding crowning glory. But just because it is not real hair does not mean it does not suffer frizz, and these tips will help you get rid of that messy frizz for gorgeous wig hair.
