About Renton, WA
Renton is a part of the Seattle region/metro area of Washington known for being the home of Boeing plant since World War II and the home of the popular social networking site Classmates.com. Major attractions include the new Seattle Seahawks training facility at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center and the Longacres horse track. Each year in July the city hosts Renton River Days, a celebration of the community and all that it offers. Among the biggest companies in Renton are Boeing, and Paccar, the makers of Kenworth Trucks, gaming company Wizards of the Coast is also located in Renton. The biggest schools here are Renton Technical College and Lindbergh High School. One of the best places to visit when you are in Renton is the Renton Public Library, which is actually built straddling the Cedar River. Famous persons from Renton include Jimi Hendrix, and reigning Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum.
