Usually I LOVE Mazatlan. Mexican is my favorite food and Mazatlan tops all mexican places to eat for me. I go to the one in Bonney Lake all the time and I can't rave enough about how wonderful it is. That said, this Auburn location was horrible. We wondered in during lunch today (Friday) and there was no hostess anywhere. There were a couple people in the bar section, as well as a brunette bartender who saw us waiting to be seated. She didn't yell someone's name, or do anything to help us. Just ignored us. So we wondered in farther. No one around except in the bar section. We double-checked the hours, we looked around for a sign - everything pointed to just plain BAD service. We stopped in for happy hour and sat in the lounge. It has a vacuous sports bar motif and feel, but the manager had some fun original 80's videos on the big screen behind the bar.\t\nService was quick and attentive. We have been there many times since we discovered the margaritas one day after a very long week. Well, I will get to the food in a minute, but I need to say "the original margarita lives up to the name of the restaurant and is by far, the BEST I have ever had." I am a huge fan of margaritas and I don't drink any other mixed drink with dinner, so I have had many a margaritas over the years. The food is good as well. It meets the expectations and offers the usual variaty as all mexican restaurants. However, we prefer and believe the "Sizzling Fajitas - Trio for Two" is a cut above. it is an amazing amount of food for two people. I actually think you could feed four if you got a few additional tortillias. Great flavor on the shrimp and chicken. I do believe the food is better at night however. We have been there twice on a Saturday for lunch and the food does not seem to be a fresh as dinner. Service is ideal. They are there when you need attention and not when you don't. this place seriously is one of tha best mexican restaurant i have ever been to especially in awhile i've been here bout 50 times in tha past year if not more. every time i've came it's been like tha first time. tha customer service is great there fun which makes it better, tha food is more than excellent and they have a sunday buffet at tha one i go to which is in woodinville. i guess thats it p.s.
