My experience with McLean trash has always been good. their rates have been reasonable and have increased at a lower rate than others. Staff is friendly and helpful. They've never refused any requests I've made including making an extra stop at my house because I set the trash out too late. The worst manners, awful customer service, pain to deal with. Would never use them again or recommend them. After cancelling their service the driver pulled up to our house to yell at me for cancelling them???!!! They have no idea what customer service is. I bought at house in June 2010. People that sold to us left a large wheeled, unlabeled garbage can. I signed up with another company who has been emptying the can. Today, McLean Trash Service came up to my house and without a word, took the garbage can! I got into my car and flagged them down. At which point the man got out of the truck, was screaming in my face (spit shooting out of his mouth) that it's his gabage can, that he's been picking up my garbage for 3 months for free (not true.) I told him that it was left by the previous owners and it is devoid of a name of a company. He screamed that it's his can and I'm not getting it back. Having used McLean Trash Service for 2 years now, I have found them to be professional in their services. Do note that their pick-up runs do occassionally run late (~ 5 PM) but they do service the property on their schedule days. I have found the crew to be polite and courteous everytime I have had an opportunity to greet them. Their management has always been receptive to any service and or billing questions that I have had. do not use service but... driver on 08/19 illegally blocked road in Fairfax. We came head to head while driving on a housing development road. As he was exiting truck he made visible that he had grabbed a stick or shaft as an apparent intimidation factor. I pointed to a spot he could pull forward, one car length and to the side that would allow for any traffic to continue. He intentionally left his truck blocking the road with his truck door open. I was speaking on my cell with his office as he was yelling at me and I at him. There response to me was to hang up on me when I asked for the person in charge. Upon leaving a voicemail message I failed to receive a return call to address the concerns. A complaint has been registered with Fairfax County as a result. This company appears to have severe deficiencies with respect to customer service and civic responsibility. I would strongly discourage any use of this company! ...read more
