Uhaul Service and Business - the Pits!

I know most people won't go to this site to review Uhaul before making a reservation for a moving truck, so my review is for the corporate office and store managers. Hopefully, they will make the needed changes. We made a reservation for the largest truck for moving for today, July 30th. We started getting email after email, letting us know a change in the reservation. I can understand a change in the location particularly because this is the busiest time of the year for Uhaul, BUT we received emails as to changes in time as well. Time changes were after the time that we needed it, sometimes only for one hour (Ha!) when we had reserved it for the full day and then other emails were sent with the change being five hours previous to the email. A little too late. We received six emails just yesterday afternoon and evening with different changes. So, here we are with nine volunteers to move and no moving van. We went this morning to one of the stores to see what could be done and were met with a manager who was very unsympathetic and rude. We did get the $50.00 reservation guarantee, but it didn't help as far as the move. Now with that said, the Uhaul administrators need to put their heads together and find a much better efficient way of reserving the trucks. One customer service person told me that there are 1700 representatives reserving trucks online and as soon as a truck is available, you can have several representatives reserving the same truck. That is an extremely inefficient way of doing business. A customer thinks that everything is set to later find out that No, someone else has the truck. Seek out other management systems that are much more efficient. Secondly, do something about the long, long times that customers have to hold on the phone. When a customer has to hold for 30 minutes or so, that is very poor business. I will make sure to tell all of my friends not to use UHaul until the quality of their business and customer satisfaction improves greatly.

Hassle!

I would not recommend this U-haul facility to anyone.\t\n\t\nThe office is impossible to get a hold of. Several times after contacting the office, I was only able to reach the call center. They have no ability to reach the office if the local offices are not answering their phones. On two different occasions, the only way I could reach the office in regards to my storage unit was to personally drive the 10 miles to the facility...not good customer service!
