Montgomery is a part of the Conroe region of Texas. It is known for its antique stores and was the birthplace of the Texas flag. Major attractions include the Davis Cottage Museum and the historical homes on the Montgomery Trek. Each year in the fall season there is a wine and food celebration with contests, demonstrations, and vendor shopping. The Montgomery independent school district is comprised of four elementary schools, an intermediate school, a middle school, a junior high school, and one high school. Montgomery has a population of approximately 600 people with the school district as one of the largest employers in the area.
