About Lamesa, TX
The city of Lamesa, whose name derives from Spanish for "the table," which refers to the flat terrain, is located at the edge of the High Plains in Dawson County, Texas. Major attractions include Dal Paso Museum, where you can view home furnishings, pioneer tools, ranch and farm equipment from early days of settlement and artwork by local artists, and the Lamesa Community Playhouse, a local volunteer community theatre and one of the longest running community theatres in the area. The biggest school here is Howard College. One of the best things to do when you are in Lamesa is to park your RV in the City RV Parking Area, which is free to use for the first four days and located close to area attractions.
