The Cape at Grand Harbor Apartments

I was one of the first to move into these new apartments and things started out OK. I submitted my list of items that needed to be fixed in my apartment and NOTHING was ever corrected. I was never given a copy of my lease after I had signed. I had to specifically ask for a copy (even though in their contract it states they are to provide me a copy upon signing) months later. I knew that I would not be renewing my lease and spoke with the assistant manager about the options I had for going month to month. I was told that up until the end of my lease I had to give 60 days notice, after my lease was officially up, I only was required to provide 30 days. I began planning for the 30 days notice and had everything aligned for my move (I had just closed on a house). I submitted my 30 days notice and was notified the next day that this would not suffice; 60 days notice still had to be given because the contract renewed each month. If it renewed each month still I don't understand WHY I would have to pay market value + $200 for my monthly rate. Of course the assistant manager that I spoke with was no longer at the location (how convenient) and I was left to deal with the manager - who is *very* rude. I went to her manager at corporate and complained as well. None willing to work with me....whatever you do make sure you have IN WRITING anything these people tell you or else you will be sorry. I was told many lies, the manager was not willing to help me or take responsibility for her company. They use to have a Facebook page and several negative reviews were being published; they've since removed the FB page all together. Ha! The grounds are not kept up. We had dirty diapers from above that stayed there for weeks outside our patio. We had a leak in the ceiling and maintenance did not clear the problem EVEN THOUGH I TOLD HIM HOW TO DO IT!!!!! Therefore, it happened again AND the standing water in the ceiling produced MOLD. We had to move because of the unhealthy conditions, but they would not cut us any slack and still charged us $2400 as a penalty for moving. We paid this as they sent it to a collection agency but are in the processs of acquiring legal assistance to help us get our money back plus damages plus moving expenses. Lucus is a joke for a manager. The hall smelled like a sewer. They have a 'tenant only' fitness facility that is nice but always crowded because the resident trainer has people from all over outside the complex there training or exercising, which is easy to do because you don't need a pass to get in the gates because all you need to put in is 333, like everyone does. ...read more

We rented "completely remodeled" that had a broken refig and dishwasher in it. This was after the leasing agent got mad that we wouldn't sign the move in sheet sight unseen. Maintenance has NEVER fixed our garage door.\t\n\t\nI want to say a lot more, but just take my word. Keep looking for a better place to live, cause this isn't it.
