I hired Kenneth Everett and Sons to pave our roads in our RV park. Kenneth, Jr. appeared to be a nice and approachable guy. He quoted me a price and a week later called and gave me a better price if I take care of the paving in conjunction with a project he was taking care of as he said I would get a better price as he got better pricing based on the amount he was purchasing and the two jobs combined would get him this better pricing. (I have since found that this is not true). Naturally with this discount, I went with him. At our first meeting, he asked if he needed to fill in areas in the park if he could use the base I had sitting on the side of the park - over 6 feet high and I replied that would be fine. Kenny, as he is called, came in and in two days completed the job. He did one side of the park and then the other - he never prepped the base nor did he add any of the rock I had sitting. I paid him the rest of the money as the road did have asphalt. In two months, the roads had weeds/grass growing through it and was cracking up. He came out and accepted all responsibility and stated he would be out to fix when the weather permitted as Pleasanton had so much rain this spring. As soon as it began to dry up in June, I started contacting him again, and he would not return my call, texts or emails so my husband got involved and to date, he is doing the same thing to him - initially answering his calls, meeting him on site, but now his story is that he wants more money to fix the base. He charged $37,950 the first time which didn't stand up and now he wants over $10K to fix the mess he made. He now says the base wasn't sound. He was the professional we hired and supposedly knows what is needed to lay asphalt. Why would anyone lay asphalt over a 2 acre park if the base wasn't right? Don't use this company!! ...read more
