Irving is located in Dallas County, bordering the outlying metropolitan area of the city of Dallas. Once home to Texas Stadium, where the Dallas Cowboys played from 1971-2008, Irving now hosts the Byron Nelson Classic, a PGA tournament played by the tour's top golfers every May.
