The Watkins Company history goes way back to 1868, when JR Watkins started selling his pain liniment ointment out of his horse and buggy wagon , door to door. He quickly added other salves and home remedies to his line. Now, he wasn't the only one doing this. There were plenty of "snake oil" salesmen out there too.
