About Commerce, TX
The city of Commerce is a college town located between the Middle and South Sulphur Rivers in Hunt County,Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area and is known as the "Bois d'Arc Capital of Texas." Major attractions include the Northeast Texas Children's Museum and the Sand Hills Golf & Country Club. Each year in August, the Cooper Lake Bluegrass Festival is celebrated here. The biggest school here is Texas A&M University, a public research university and the oldest public university in Texas. One of the best places to visit when you are in Commerce is Cooper Lake State Park, which consists of 715 acres in Delta County and 2,310 acres in northern Hopkins County and with camping, fishing, boating and trails.
