Latest Projects and updates

I have been busy with new projects. Two of these are a memorial portrait of 'man's best friend' that was a constant companion for 14 years.  The other is a memorial piece that will be sent to Arizona in honor of the Arizona 19 ( the 19 Hotshots who gave all).  I am in the process of working on custom business signs, as well as custom art for all the branches of the Armed Forces.  I have added new pictures to my photo gallery, new items in my web store, and new links to check out. So have a look around, stay as long as you like, and don't forget to sign the Guest Book and subscribe to my website to stay up-to-date on projects and new items in the store. ...read more

Amazing results

I have been trying my burning on different types of wood as well as leather and paper, and I must say, the results are surprising. The different types of wood have lead me to start a new line, which can be seen in the store as well as the photo gallery. The new line of burnings will be available in sizes 5"x7" ; 8"x10"; 11"x14"; and 16"x20, these items will come framed.  All pieces of art in the gallery are available to order, they will be numbered and there will only be 25 of each burning, with the exception of original pieces such as a portraits of people, pets, etc, which will be a one of a kind.   It's been a week since I started my website, and it has been fun and interesting checking the statistics of visitors so far. There has been visitors from 3 countries, including the United States.  I am hoping that as visitors look around the website they will stop by and sign the guest book,  I would like for visitors to leave comments, suggestions,  and feel free to ask any questions.  Visitors can now leave comments on an individual photo in the gallery.http://woodnheatcreations.webs.com/ ...read more

BLOGGIN N' BURNIN

It's a bit ironic how this creative adventure got it's beginning. First I am a volunteer firefighter, so what better business to own than applying heat to wood ( a little bit of firefighter humor). Secondly, I was a tattoo artist, which   is actually very similar, except now I use wood burning tips instead of needles.   I took up wood burning and after a practice burning, the first piece I did was the "Wildland Firefighter Scramble" (can be seen above).  After a few more pieces were completed and shown, I began selling and taking orders. The piece titled 'The King' (can be seen in store by clicking above), was entered in a local Hobby and Craft competition and was awarded First place in it's category. My wife's photography took "Best of Show'", which she is not letting me live down, there is a bit of competitiveness between the two creative minds in our home.   I am now trying my burning on different mediums, thinking outside the wood 'box', so to speak. We shall see how that turns out.......   ...read more
