I live in Wichita Falls and frequent Bowie all the time. I recently drove through downtown and noticed it was unusually busy (at lunch time) in the old town part. Then I noticed the new diner there. Went in and had the lunch special which was meatloaf that day. It was better than mom's (sorry mom) and the peach cobbler was the best I've ever had. Everything on my plate was homemade. My brother and I were headed back from Albuquerque, NM visiting our Aunt who had just celebrated her 90th birthday. We were looking for a local place to eat lunch and found the Armadillo Grill. Our first indication of a good place when we saw the parking lot full of utility/work trucks. We enjoyed great service and excellent food. I wanted to try a steak since I was in Texas and choose the 10 oz sirloin which was cooked to perfection. Included was a baked potato and grilled vegetables. Other sides were available to choose from. We had ordered the Texas Toothpicks as an appetizer - While we don't eat much fried food we enjoyed the pepper strips dipped in ranch dressing.
