All I can say is "wow, these guys are awesome"!! I used Pascal's Catering for my wedding reception and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone and everyone. Not only are they totally professional, they are highly detail oriented, which is very important in a wedding vendor. I worked with Ivan and Dean who helped coordinate my event and they were so creative. Ivan and Dean met with me on several occasions to go over all of the details at the event site and we exchanged emails. They helped me with every question I had and I felt that everything was under control the entire time. There absolutely zero slip-ups, no mistakes, it was flawless. The prices were fantastic too - I don't think any other company could offer the highest quality of food they serve at that price.\t\n\t\nThey came up with all of the ideas for decorations and I didn't even have to hire a wedding coordinator because they were on top of everything. They worked with the rental companies to book linens, tables, chairs, had them all delivered and set up the day before and the day of the event, they decorated everything and the presentation was amazing.\t\n\t\nBut the food, OMG! I love their food. All my guests LOVED their food. Everyone was obsessed with their goat cheese and sun-dried tomato stuffed baby potatoes. Those things are amazing. They also made this awesome pineapple custard cake for our wedding cake. We were not highly traditional so we didn't need anything fancy, but that cake was delicious and the presentation was also superb.\t\n\t\nAfter the party they did a super quick job of cleaning everything up and they even packed the leftover food in containers for our guests to bring home on their way out. The staff was so courteous and kind too. The food was spectacular here! We held a private party for about 10 people, and everyone was blown away by the food and the wine. The wild boar chops were something you need to try if they are available. The ostrich wrapped appetizers were so exotic, and so good. The desserts are a definite must. Definitely a place to go with friends...stay awhile, try out the "self-serve" wine bar, and order some food. It will be an experience everyone will enjoy. I've visited Taste Select Wines a few times now...and I have yet to find the restaurant lacking in anything. The experience, from greeting to departure, has kept us going back. The management really has it together. The wine carousels are unique and fun. The chef does an excellent job at creating the most tasty dishes. By the way, the beef carpaccio was delicious. I get it everytime I go...even when I plan to "try something new"...I still have to get the carpaccio while I'm there. Everything is so fresh and delicious! I went to Taste with a few of my friends to celebrate. While I like wine, I am by no means an oenophile. The waitress was very helpful in making a selection, not pushing the more expensive wines, as is the case in so many restaurants, but asking which types of wines I liked best, most important characteristics, etc. I now have two new favorites thanks to my trip to Taste. My wife and I drove from San Antonio to Austin after having Taste recommended to us by another friend. I can tell you that what we found did not disappoint. The managers added a personal touch by coming by and talking with us at our table. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the wine, and the chef even made an appearance to make sure we were happy with the cuisine. \t\nThe wine selection is unbeatable. They literally have something for everybody, and take the time to educate the customer about diferent classes of wines and different labels within a certain class. They even have a way that you can sample several different wines that doesn't break the bank (for those among us who are a little less decisive).\t\nThe food was a real highlight! My wife and I take the time to treat ourselves to a high-end dining experience now and again (Ounce, Silo, and Kirby's are all excellent choices in North SA, for those looking), so I have a little knowledge about good food. Let me just say that everything we tried, from appetizers to dessert, was fantastic. The thing I liked the most was the variety of the menu. Featuring dishes that included wild boar sausage, fresh ahi tuna, and handmade pastas. This is not a run of the mill meal, and it was worth every penny.\t\nThe climate of Taste is welcoming and casual, but still has the air of class that one wants in a fine dining experience. You must experience Taste. It's not just a place to eat but an entire dining experience. I would highly suggest trying the chef's sampler or simply asking for whatever he recommends that evening. He's phenomenal. All of the food is fresh and prepared in a manner that brings out the richness of each dish. As for the wine, there is an extensive list to chose from or you can go to the self-serve units to get whatever is "on tap". If you're not sure which wine to choose, the waiters are a great resource-- knowing well how to pair a wine not only with the food but also with your taste. Went for a party of 20+ and have to say the service was pretty good considering the crowd. Some were fairly knowledgeable about the wines, but no one there was a true sommelier or close to it. \t\nGreat way to try several wines for just a few dollars, perfect for a group of friends.\t\n\t\nThe food was good. Normally to see a menu like this you would be at a stuffy, high-end restaurant and the bill would refect this. It was such a pleasure to enjoy such a lovely meal, with great hospitality without breaking the bank. Of course, the wine selection is fabulous. Notable reds from Napa and Walla Walla (so your wine snob friends will be impressed), along with many others so all your guests will be happy. My husband and I recently moved to Austin and we love to explore all the different places here. We stumbled upon TASTE and go back at least once a week!! If you love wine and you love food you will love everything about TASTE. One of the reasons I really like TASTE is because it is owned by a family so you know not only is the service going to be amazing but they are putting 100% of them into every aspect of the restaurant. And believe me they are!! They have a wide variety of wines and the knowledge to be able to explain each wine to you!! Also they have a great concept of a wide selection for you taste yourself to see which one works best for you. I wish all places had this!! It makes it easy to learn more about different wines that I have never had before without going out and buying a bottle and wasting my money if I don't like it! They also have a different wine list that is lengthy if you just want a glass and there is something there for everyone. The food is always great (we love the beef tartare)!! On the menu they have half sizes portions as well as full size which is great for you to experience a little but of everything without breaking the bank. The patio is really great because you have great views of the lake and the sunsets are something my husband and I enjoy if we just want to go there and relax have a glass of wine while we watch.
