Medina Skating Rink
By Bob May 31, 2010
The place is cleaner, quieter, and a better environment for kids. We have not witnessed the "wanna-be" gang members, etc., like you might see at the Milan skating rink or especially Jackson. We drive 15 miles each way to go here. They actually have staff that will break up disagreements, etc. ...read more
Medina Family Medical Clinic
By Keith Reynolds November 17, 2009
Medina is very fortunate to have such a great clinic in their own back yard! The facility, staff, and services offered are all first class. I doubt that any other west Tennessee community this size has such a top quality practice. Their brand new building is state-of -the-art, with a very professional, yet friendly atmosphere. Based on what I believe to be a very strong commitment to the highest of standards, I highly recommend this clinic. ...read more

Replogle Lawrence Funeral Home
By jason October 07, 2008
I came to this funeral home by mistake, I could not find anyone to help me at first so I walked around. This place is a house converted into a business, very very small and chopped up. When I finally found an employee they were rude and told me they didn't know of another funeral home in this town. So I left there and drove about 4 blocks and found the funeral home I was looking for ion the same street. It was a large building with lots of parking, I won't make that mistake again ...read more

FUNERALS: Burial or Cremation - it's the same
An important choice when it comes to a funeral is burial or cremation. The two are as different as night and day yet the end results are the same, yes the same. Thus no matter which is chosen you will end up with the same results so therefor they are not so different. I will explain, when you chose burial the body is placed in a casket and then buried in a cemetery. After about 20 years nature has taken it course and the body has been broken down naturally and what remains behind are the bones. Even if the body is embalmed, placed in the finest casket and a sealer vault the end results will be the same. Embalming by definition is the temporary disinfection and preservation of a human body, key word being temporary. The chemicals used today in embalming are much different than what was allowed in the 50's and 60's. On the other hand the cremation process involves the incineration of the body. The body is 70% water, the skin, organs and muscles are all composed of water and soft tissue, what remains behind after cremation are the bones. The bones are very brittle and are placed in a processor which will pulverize the bones into the small pieces referred to as the ashes or cremains. Simply put the cremation process does in about 3 hours what it takes nature 20 years to do. Some people feel looked down upon if they chose cremation which in fact they may have the more humane chose, think about it. Reality is we are not coming back to life here on earth, if we chose burial we still will never see that person, the casket or the vault again or if we chose cremation we may see the Urn, but truly all we have left are our memories.
