The Special Event Boutique

We stopped at Special Event Boutique to search for a prom dress for my daughter. My husband was along and was quickly escorted to a secluded area and told "You don't want to make anyone uncomfortable". I was not allowed to attend my daughter in the fitting room and the sales staff is fake saccharin kindness. Every dress my daughter tried on was "the one" or was "the dress of her dreams" even if it was the sales person's pick and not my daughter's. When we were finally left alone for a split-second my daughter whispered to me that she was uncomfortable and wanted to shop elsewhere. As soon as we said we were going to shop around the sales staff and manager turned up the pressure. I should've known better as soon
as they disrespected daddy. Shop somewhere respectful and save yourself from the vultures.

Actually, this is a ZERO star rating. \t\nPLEASE consider if you want to chance your bridal experience by patronizing Special Event.\t\n\t\nThe staff measure you, look at the specific size chart for that manufacturer, and tell you what size is appropriate. We ordered the sizes they recommended.\t\n\t\nLong story short- Jill was very nice and helpful. She re-measured six women for bridesmaids dresses after another worker had gotten measurements that seemed "off". For two of the women, she recommended sizes and both of these women decided to err on the side of caution and go up a size.\t\nAfter measuring the rest of the women, she recommended sizes and we agreed to those sizes.\t\n\t\nUpon arrival, ALL SIX DRESSES ARE TOO SMALL. \t\n\t\nFour can be altered, taken out a few inches in the seams. Two of the dresses, ironically, the two who cautiously ordered up one size, will not even zip the last 5 inches on top. (What if they had taken the staff recommendation to order the smaller sizes?)\t\n\t\nJODI, THE OWNER, says "YOU CHOSE THE DRESS SIZES, IT IS NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY THAT THE DRESSES DON'T FIT". \t\nReally??? Who took the measurements?\t\n\t\nEnough said. \t\n\t\nPLEASE take your business elsewhere and support ethical business practices.\t\n\t\n

The Special Event has been amazing! From the first day I bought my wedding gown to the day before the wedding they were there for us. They were always open honest and willing to help me with anything I needed. I LOVED my bridesmaids dresses. They had so many to choose from and so convenient with ordering, even for my girls who all lived out of town. And the fittings done on their dresses truly made them fit like they were made for each girl. My dress was AMAZING! My whole look came together with the dress and all my accessories thanks to my consultant. Their seamstress knew what she was doing, my fittings went so smoothly and in the end I felt beautiful on my wedding day! The guys tuxes were so sharp! Loved that the consultants were there to make sure the guys left looking their best! I had the best experience at The Special Event. I loved that they are not just there to sell but to actually get to know me, my wedding party and everything about my event!

SEB has lots of great products, but the service made me feel really uncomfortable. From the moment you walk in they hound you with lots of super fake "let's find the gown of your dreams", or "i can't wait to see what a beautiful bride you will be on your super special day" talk. It is obviously very forced and unnatural to the point of being ridiculous and I felt super awkward. I told the attendant I wanted to try on about seven gowns I found and she let me try on three, then sent me out the door with some pamphlets.. not exactly the experience I was looking for.

When stepping into the Special Event Boutique I was welcomed & so was my Mother, Grandmother, sister & niece... immediately we felt like we were going to find the answers we had been looking for without any help in the several other places we had been. Today I left with a clear vision of wedding day fulfilled. No pressure but lots of suggestions & ideas. We were able to get everything ~ my gown, headpiece, veil, bridesmaids dressess, tuxedos, flowergirl, mothers, gifts... with constant attention to the details I never felt overwhelmed but guided through the process. My friend recommended this place as she had done her wedding here last summer... I will be recommending them too. Thanks everyone at the Special Event Boutique ~ we haven't been able to stop talking about how amazing our time there with you was.

I bought my bridal dress from Special event which went wonderful and because I bought the dress there I received a discount on the tuxes so I decided to get those too- big mistake!!! We picked up the tuxes thurs. before the wedding- when the guys tried them on two of the pants were 2-2 1/2 in. too short, 2 coats were too short or tight, three white shirts were too small and one was two sizes too big, one teenager received a toddler sized shoe and the ring bearer's shoes were two sizes too big!!! So the day before the wedding we ended up having to drive 1 hr. to alex. to get them fixed- we didn't get all the pieces until 1/2 hr. b4 pictures on Sat. (the DAY of the wedding)- an extra headache that didn't need to happen- I do not recommend them, especially because this same thing happened to my cousin two weeks ago at Special event!!! I tried to call them before my wedding to make sure it didn't happen to me and they assured me that it wouldn't but it did. When I attempted to discuss issues with the manager she hung up on meTWICE!!! Hopefully this helps you decide where to get your tuxes- NOT AT SPECIAL EVENT BRIDAL SHOP!!
