If you haven't stayed here since the date of this posting, give it a try. You won't be sorry.We were coming to Huron for a funeral during the State B Girls BB Tournament and were told "good luck finding a room in Huron". After attempting the usual Expedia, Travelocity, Priceline, etc. I went to the Huron Chamber of Commerce to find hotel listings and started making calls. Dakota Inn was the first place I called, and lo and behold they had a room, so I snatched it up. After I made the reservation for the weekend, I started reading reviews online and was VERY afraid of what I had gotten myself into. I was pleasantly surprised to find a clean room with new carpet and freshly painted walls. The continental breakfast consisted of fresh baked biscuits and sausage gravy, egg bake, and all the other usual fare. I was very impressed. The new owner of Dakota (as of September 2012) is working very hard to give the hotel a resounding comeback and doing a great job of it. ...read more
