About Hemingway, SC
The town of Hemingway is located in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, and has a heritage of cotton and tobacco farming. According to its website, it's the "Barbecue Capital of the World." A major attraction here is the Browntown Museum, where you'll find a farmhouse, a smoke house, a forge, a cane mill and a cotton gin. Each year in April, the BBQ-Shag Festival is held here. The global distribution headquarters for Tupperware is located here and other businesses include Seafood Shack and Stuckey Brothers Furniture Company. Hemingway Elementary School and Hemingway High School are located here. One of the best places to visit when you are in Hemingway is the nearby, 2,500-acre Huntington Beach State Park, located on the Grand Strand and the site of Atalaya castle, the former winter home of sculptor, Anna Hyatt Huntington, and with camping, boating, fishing, trails, swimming and a picnic area.
