Great for owners,

I'm an owner, and I signed up in August of '10. So far I've had a great experience, and they made it easy to jump on the collective consumption bandwagon. Their system is rock solid--they've really thought out solutions to all the questions one might have about letting ...others rent their cars. I've rented a couple of other owners' cars, and the experience was great too. It felt like a privilage driving other people's pride and joys--a very different feeling than when you are driving a rental car from a giant company. I feel even more confident that people who drive my car will have a similar feeling and treat it well. If you are planning on renting a car, keep in mind that your experience will vary from car to car, since each one is owned by a different person. Be sure to take a look at the features and the reviews before making your choice :) Thanks RelayRides for helping me turn my car into an asset!

Great cars, great prices.

You can get a van or a truck or a mini or an SUV at a moment's notice. Nice!

RelayRides Rocks

I’d been car-less in SF for about a year. I hadn‘t signed up for Zipcar or City Carshare because I didn’t want to have to give money up-front when I wasn’t sure if/when I might use a car. And their various plans (with permutations re: mileage, time, gas) seemed ...so complicated. Then I saw a blue car w/ a RelayRides sticker a block from my home. I was surprised at how simple it was: no up-front fees; gas included; hourly rates. The registration & approval process was quick. For my 1st trip, I reserved the blue car online 1/2-hour beforehand, and everything went smoothly. It’s cool that car owners get some benefit instead of having their cars sit idle all day. There's a wide variety of cars; I’ve rented hatchbacks for hauling furniture. If you don’t mind driving an older-model with maybe faded paint, you'll save a lot compared to Zipcar—which to me is definitely worth it. RR has (nice) service reps answering the phone 24/7, too.
