Reviews about Pinewood Appliance Repair
Pinewood appliance, Bend, OR
We had to have an ignition switch replaced on our stove. Pinewood came out and told us that removing the top would require new screws and therefore all new burners, their statement "these are just really hard to do, we see this all the time. Their quote $778. Two days later another appliance person had the new ignitor in place after taking all of 10 minutes to remove the top, total cost of the waranteed job $166. Works great! Have since heard that Pinewood is really expensive, however in this case we have either a purposeful attempt at ripping us off or somebody that doesn't know what they are doing. Whichever the case do you want to hire them?

Use them twice in one month to fix a refrigerator and a dishwasher. ( 10/2009 ) They told me the fridge needed a condenser and a compressor. Both parts under manufacturer warrantee but labor was $ 859.00. \t\n\t\nHow long does it take to change a compressor and an evaporator ??? 10 hours ????\t\n\t\nHe said he could charge the system but it would not last long. He charged the system and it is still working great 2 months later. The employee who came was a very heavy smoker that just stunk. Bill was $ 85.00\t\n\t\nSecond time, my 1 1/2 year old GE dishwasher wasn't working properly. It needed a controller and keypad according to the technician. I suspect it needed just a key pad, but whatever - the controller was under warrantee. But the keypad was not. He charged me over $ 430 for repairs which is what he told me in the beginning. $ 190.00 for the part plus $ 10.00 shipping. The rest was labor. \t\n\t\nWork was done in an hour and the machine now works. \t\n\t\nHowever, the $ 190.00 part I found online for $ 61.00 plus $ 4.95 shipping. \t\n\t\nYou be the judge. I realize people have to make a living, but I felt that they were a rip off.

During month of October 2009 I used them twice.
Sub Zero fridge repair - Parts are under warrantee. 5 year old fridge - 12 year warrantee on parts.
Needs evaporator and condenser - quote $ 853.00 to make repair for labor. $ 84.99 trip charge. Repairman was not very clean. Smelled horrible of cigarette smoke.
Dishwasher repair. $ 406.00 on a GE Monogram dishwasher that was 1 1/2 years old. Controller was warranted, keypad was not. Keypad $ 189.00. Labor $ 135.00 + $ 84.95 trip call. Was here for less than an hour.
Repairman asked me how to turn off the electricity so he could work on it. I had to tell him to unplug it.
The final bill of $ 331.20 was $ 10.00 overcharge from what it should have been.
Not a very impressive company.
