About Scranton, PA
Scranton is a part of the pocono region area of Northeastern Pennsylvania known for its anthracite coal and first electric trolly. Major attractions include Scranton/WB Yankees (IL Baseball), WB/Scranton Penguins (AHL Hockey) and WB/Scranton Pioneers (Arena Football). Each year in the winter season there is Sno Mountain Ski Resort, (formerly called Montage Mountain) which rivals the numerous resorts of the Poconos. One of the best places to visit when you are in Scanton is the Steamtown National Historic Site which seeks to preserve the history of steam locomotives.
