I went to Med Express with a headache. I never saw a doctor. Some woman who never identified herself (I still have no idea if she was a physician's assistant, a nurse, a technician or what) told me I'd have to go to a hospital emergency room, that they were not equipped to handle headaches. My visit to the MedExpress in Aspinwall, PA is one of the worse experieces I have ever had. Granted I arrived at 8:15pm & closing was 9:00pm, the Doctor or Physician Assist that was signed to my room treated me as if i did not have a legit complaint. She took no time with me whatsoever to explain what my diagnosis. Quickly told me what she thought (never explaining), left the room then returned telling me I was done. I felt disrespect on all accounts and totally rushed so she could go home. Will never visit the facility again and i will never ever recommend this facilty to anyone. I would not recommend this veterinary office to anyone. The veterinarian spent a total of 10 minutes with my cat after a 45 minute wait in the exam room. She admitted that she was unable to palpate two of the three organs that would be helpful in diagnosing my cat. Instead, she suggested that I get an x-ray to see if there was an obstruction, either in conjunction with the an antibiotic or upon the failure of an antibiotic to relieve my cat's symptoms. I inquired about the cost and necessity of each treatment option that was to be performed, and I was really surprised to pay a bill that was twice the amount that was quoted. You would think that a veterinarian would know roughly how much a treatment would cost, how to palpate an organ, or gee I don't know to listen to bowel sounds if they are suspicious of an obstruction, but are unable to palpate an organ. I wasted money that could have been spent actually making my cat feel better. I did not appreciate the up-selling of treatment options. I did not appreciate the information that I was given about the application of the antibiotic. Who knows when I will receive my lab results either. Told by a local MD and hospital my son had pneumonia;the next hospital finally diagnosed him with heart failure with ejection fraction of 15%.He was sent to West Penn & after 2 wks. of testing & not finding any real cause but cont. to decline he was transferred to AGH. He was dx. by a repeat cardiac MRI with noncompaction-they knew right away. AGH literally saved his life. When we 1st met the cardiac & transplant team they told us they would become like family. He had a balloon pump implanted and 2 days later a left ventricular assist device. On 6/16/10 he had a heart transplant. They are family. From the girls at the registration desk who know him by name, the CLU nurses who take excellent care of him, the ICU nurses who were fantastic and the doctors who are incredible. Swine flu and the regular flu have been spreading faster than ever among the younger age group lately, and about everyone in the United States is aware of this. I'm also a college student where most of the sickness is spreading. I was experiencing flu like symptoms and decided to go to this Med Express because it's close to me and I've heard good things from friends about the Med Express on Washington road in Upper Saint Clair. This was the most money I've wasted for for absolutely nothing. The wait was horribly long and then I finally get to see the doctor after waiting 45 minutes for them to come in after the nurse and then I tell the doctor all my symptoms. She then declared I could not possibly have the flu because I did not have a high fever when they took my temperature. She said I had a simple cold and handed me a flu pamphlet. When I got home I looked at the pamphlet she gave me and it lists all the symptoms of the flu, all the exact same things that was wrong with me, and next to fever it says "It's important to note that not everyone with flu will have a fever". So obviously they don't even look over what they hand out. I live with my boyfriend currently and he got sick a couple days after me with the same things, but he went to his normal doctor and a few days later they confirmed he had swine flu. The people at this Med Express have no idea what they're doing. Maybe at some point in time it was a good place to go, but not anymore.
