I found out that Burgmeiers was much more expensive! My new trash hauter is cheaper with no fuel adjustment charge. No wonder Burgmeiers could underbid the local Huntingdon Borough hauler who had done the work for the borough for years -- they charge the residential customers a lot more.! I chose Burgmeier's because I wanted a local company, but they have very poor customer service and have missed at least 4 pickups in the last 10 months - two in the last two weeks. When I called to complain, the so-called customer service representative could care less. When I asked not to be charged for the missed pickups, she said that their policy is not to refund for missed pickups. Well, my policy is not to patronize companies with crappy customer service!!! My son's car dropped dead in Altoona and I asked Gio's to stop and confirm its death before having it flat-bedded home, some distance. He did so and wouldn't even charge me for the opinion.
