I live in Sutherlin and frequent the Apple Peddler....have never had bad food or service all the times i have been there. Although late nights if they get busy its a little slower than normal because they have a small staff after 9. To the person complaining about the pie....they dont make them there, they are brought in. The only way UGH would know about the marijuana and handwashing is if they were there with the cook, so no room to talk. Handwashing sink is not visible from the dining area. As for employee turnover....well its been the same wait staff for the most part since i started going there 13 years ago...with a couple who left to go to college and anywhere u go the graveyard staff always has a high turnover. Sharis has a very high turnover rate....know more ex employees from there than any other restaurant in Douglas County. ...read more

Stayed at the Microtel Motel next door to the Apple Peddler this last week. Went for pie and Ice cream at the restaurant. It was gross. we had blackberry with 2 berries and the rest purple corn starch filling the same for the 2 pieces of strawberry rhubarb. The crust was horrible also. If you can't bake a pie from scratch at least get a Marie Callender frozen one and bake it. Probaly won't be eating there again and for sure not ordering pie. We're now looking to hire a competent, strong, ethical individual for a Dishwasher/Clean Up position. The hours will be from Monday through Saturday; from 5 pm - 10 pm. Compensation is $10-$11/Hour and Dinner and fountain drinks are provided. Duties include: loading and unloading the commercial dishwasher, manual dishwashing of pots, pans, etc., mopping, taking out the trash, and back kitchen clean up every night including hood, grill, changing of the fryer oil, and stove clean up.
