This facility will say what ever the family wants to hear. They tell families they will care for their loved ones, and that just is not the case. Because Emeritus is classified as an Assisted Living Facility by the state of Ohio, the staff is NOT permitted to perform any type of skill to the resident. For example, they do not turn a bedbound patient every two hours, or provide enough staff to allow for assisting a resident during meal times. Also, if the patient has any type of wound care, the family must pay for home health to come in and care for that wound (ex: pressure ulcer). A bedbound patient, a patient requiring ANY type of skill does NOT belong at Emeritus. If your loved one cannot fend for themselves, do not consider Emeritus. ...read more
