California and other states mybe introducing bills to ban all incandescent light bulbs to force people to use compact fluorescent bulbs. These fluorescent bulbs use one quarter of the electricity, generate 70 percent less heat, and can last 13 times longer than the traditional light bulbs. In the near future, the High Energy Incandescent (HEI™) bulb is slated to be part of GE’s push towards more energy saving lighting. Acco press release dated February 2007, the HEI bulb will be ready for market by 2010, providing the same quality of light and convenience as today’s standard incandescent light bulbs, while using half the energy.
