Paid alot of money for nothing. Rarely returned called, vague "engagement" letters. They do the minimum amount of work for a BIG price. They do not work the clients best interest. My broker recommended Dana from this firm. First time I had to pay a substantial amount of taxes on my own. The first year, they did average but personality-wise, they were a bit rude. The second year, they did not ask me if I'd paid quarterlies, although they had told me the year before how much I'd be expected to pay, so I, of course, paid it. So they did my taxes without factoring that in and I had to come back. There was so little attention paid and I felt as if they were annoyed to have to correct their mistake. This year, I called to make an appointment and they brushed me off, saying that since I had moved to Bay from the eastside I should find somebody else and stated that they had no idea who was available out here. Patrick Niland messed up my taxes and didn't realize it until 2.5 years later. Then he advised me to NOT PAY my back-taxes because it was unlikely I would get caught! He did not assume any responsibility for his mistakes, making me pay for ALL the penalties and interest. I refused to perform tax evasion and risk JAIL for Patrick Niland's mistakes. I am not a criminal. I can't say the same for this guy... He obviously doesn't know how to do his job and he doesn't care because he doesn't suffer any consequences. My next stop: lawyer! ...read more
