I lived in two different Apartments in the complex. In the first one there was no real heat besides my little electric heater yet I always had a heat bill between $50 - 100. Then, I moved into another one with my girl friend and there was no problem transferring the deposit. New still had very little heat but when I decided to move out at the end of my lease and not stay at that property, they decide to take my entire deposit. I cleaned both apartments the same way. And they didn't just take my deposit, they wanted me to pay another $300 for "scuffs and grease on the wall." Seriously what grease?? I call and they say just give them $100 and we'll call it even. True swindlers. I'm looking at you Joe and Samantha, true thievery.I didn't even mention the fact that the walls are paper thin and you will hear everything that is going on with your neighbors. The staff here is arrogant, mean, and unhelpful. We have complained numerous times to them regarding noisy neighbors to no avail. There are drug dealers in living in some units. One person was recently injured due to unresolved maintenance issues. We had an abandoned, maggot-filled vehicle in our parking lot for nearly half a year before the management office called the police and ordered it towed. However, our car was taken instead (both were black four door sedans) and while the our car was returned the next day, we received no compensation or apology and were instead dispassionately disregarded by management. Village Green Apartments in Akron, OH were nice at on time. However, the interior of the units have much to be desired in regards to any renovations since they were first built after WWII. The heat is free, but the units use radiators that cannot be adjusted and the temperature inside averages about 79 degrees all winter long. A small air conditioner unit is only in the living room area and does not put out enough cool air to get into either of the bedrooms. The property was recently bought out by a different management group. This new management has changed policies and refuses to enforce half of them. The people in the office are rude and unfriendly. Rent has been increased considerably in the past year. The only saving grace for this place is the maintenance staff who are always very friendly and willing to offer a helping hand.
