Hartsdale is located on the Bronx River in Westchester County, New York, in the New York metro area and is known as the site of one of the country's first pet cemeteries, the Hartsdale Canine Cemetery, which was started in 1896. Major attraction are Ferncliff Cemetery, where many famous celebrities are buried, and Odell House, now a museum and believed to be the site where Comte de Rochambeau and George Washington formed an alliance in the Battle of Yorktown.
