Plaka is an undiscovered gem of Greek cuisine. Although it is tucked away in a shopping mall in Jackson Heights/East Elmhurst, it is as good as if not better than most Greek restaurants in nearby Astoria (and the rest of the NY metro area). I eat here at least once a month, and often bring my Greek immigrant mom as well, who heartily approves of the food...and that's saying A LOT!! The spanakopita (spinach pie) and avgolemono (egg-lemon soup) are especially well done here, as are the traditional souvlaki and fried calamari. Plus, service is excellent, prices are reasonable, and there's ample parking...what more could you ask for! ...read more

My son Jessi and I currently visited the restaurant and it was amazing. Before visiting El Rancho Jubille I read the reviews of other people that visited the place and I felt kinda confused. Now that I visited El Rancho Jubille for the first time ever, I feel happy, excited, and SO satisfied that I actually went on to visit the Restaurant. The food is excellent and so tasteful. The service is really good and fast. The restaurant looks very creative and tropical, you feel like your actually in Dominican Republic. If you have never visited El Rancho Jubille, PLEASE don't listen to these people that say negative things towards the restaurant. In my opinion this is a 5 STAR* restaurant and It's definitely worth every cent of your pocket. I have been eating food from Great Wall on Astoria Blvd. for many a years now and have found it to be very tasty and delicious. They are probably the best in the area, since I have tasted many other chinese places within a 3-5 mile radious. Highly recommended. ...read more
