New highlight techniques
I have scheduled a new customer for next week and decided to check out some highlighting techniques to help me get prepared. It is funny that it took a new customer calling in to get me interested. So I found some great demos and tutorials on Balayage color techniques, Ombre' hair color and Dip Dye and how to create Thick Chunky highlights. I don't think that she is looking for anything that extreme but watching these demos has inspired me and really gets me excited knowing that I could create these styles if someone wanted this look. I love watching the Voice with Christina Agulara (spelling) and seeing the cloths and hair also enspires me. Summer in WNY
Right up until this week I have been busy, busy, busy in the shop. I must have gotten everyone in before the heat wave. With the slow pace I have tried to catch up on projects that needed doing around the house. Getting ready for many family get togethers and I want to be outside as much as possible to enjoy this beautiful summer weather. In WNY summer goes by too fast. I have been watching the hummingbirds coming around and notice some smaller ones...maybe three...this is the first year that has happened. I have a new feeder that I had to refill today and put in a spot that will be easier to see. Obviously they are eating it because it was empty but could not see when they were at the feeder. I wonder how long before they start using it...my customers will be able to see them now. I had coffee on the deck this morning before the sun hit it...I see shade again so need to get back outside! ...read more

Sunshine! and 50 degrees!
Hi, It turned out to be sunny and 50 DEGREES! Even better than I thought! Time to clean up the yard and I have a lot of stones that need to be put back in my driveway. I'll get it done a little at a time! First I have to make some clients look their best this spring. Cann't wait to see how Mary Beth liked her color.
