About Roebling, NJ
Roebling is located in Burlington County, New Jersey. The village is located on the Delaware River near the Pennsylvania border. In 1904 the land that was to become Roebling was purchased by John A. Roebling's Sons Company to build a steel mill and the village soon became one of the first company towns in the U.S. The mill, which is now inactive, provided steel for the Brooklyn and Golden Gate Bridges and also for the elevator cables in the Empire State Building and Washington Monument. It also made the wire for the original slinky. The mill's Main Gate Building is now a museum. Roebling School is the largest school in the village. Roebling businesses include the Wesley Insurance Service Agency and Word Center Printing. Area attractions include Roebling Park, Nyikita Field, and Jar Memorial Park.
