\t\nMy contractor recommended I go see Bill Hancock at Direct Depot in advance of doing demolition in our 1910 kitchen. We knew we were working with some tricky conditions; incorporating an existing brick chimney and some unknown conditions due to yet to be demolished multiple layers of wall board, plaster and lathe. We worked with Bill in the showroom and remotely via go to meeting through several (at least 3) designs to arrive at a final plan. Bill tirelessly worked through and gave great suggestions while always allowing us freedom to arrive at our own solutions. On Bill's recommendation we worked with Miguel in the appliance showroom also through several appliance options to arrive at a Stainless Fridgidaire Professional set. Miguel never seemed thrown by our many wide ranging and often changing requirements. With the existing brick and quarter sawn oak shaker style cabinetry by Starmark anchoring the design we now had to begin to work on tile and countertop selection. We had been pretty comfortable up untill this point that we were on the right track with design finishes and styles but admit freely with tile and countertops we were out of our depths. Again upon Bill's recommendation we saw Steven and Lorenzo in the tile showroom. Steven an NY School of Interior Design graduate knew precisely what we were attempting to accomplish with the renovation. He and Lorenzo were able to pull some completed job photos to help us visualize materials and colors in place. We ultimately selected entire walls of white subway tile, honed black absolute granite countertops and 12X24 floor tile layed out in a running bond pattern. Beyond this Steven directed us to great online resources for period appropriate lighting and a specialty sink for the powder room. The exceptional service and unparalleled expertise provided by this team of professionals was imperitive to us as homeowners. Undertaking this renovation was very consuming and there was real potential for missteps: This team along with an incredibly talented contractor made the end result great!\t\n\t\n ...read more

Our experience renovating our kitchen was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we walked into the showroon, we felt comfortable about the project. Our designer was amazing, and a total professional. We ended up using several of their affiliated companies, including Reliable Installations (contractors), the appliances and the granite countertops. Access to all the vendors made it a one stop shopping experience, and everyone was friendly and professional. The contractors were also exceptional. It is rare these days to find such an outstanding business to work with in making our dream kitchen come true. We will enjoy our new kitchen for many years to come!\t\n\t\n ...read more

My wife and I recently SCOURED the NY, NJ, PA area and the internet looking for the best possible deal on cabinets. We are selling in a couple years so we really wanted to be smart! Direct Depot was an insanely easy choice! Arielle, the sales rep set up a web conference and used my measurement and showed me everything exactly as it would look and even provided me an exact price, all from the comfort of my own home. All it took was one visit to the showroom to see in person the cabinets we chose, and select the FREE HARDWARE and we were done at almost half the price! Because we bought our cabinets from them we were entitled to an INSANE discount on Granite from BCG. A whole kitchen and hardware and granite and a free double sink for less than $7000.00!!! Two weeks later, our kitchen is unbelievable and much more amazing than we ever thought or wanted!! ...read more

The experience I had with Direct Depot made me want to write this review. When I saw that they said they had the lowest prices guaranteed, I was skeptical to say the least. Seeing is believing!! From the wonderful designers who took the time to listen to my needs to the unbelievable amount of selections available, to the delvery and installation, it could not have been easier. They treated me with courtesy and made it so I didnt want to go anywhere else. I can't recommend them enough as they fit my budget and met all my expectations!! ...read more

I went in to this place believing that it was just for fun because my budget was leaning more toward a Home Depot or Lowes purchase. Boy was I wrong. First let me tell you that the designers at Direct Depot know their stuff. Home Depot gave me a 2nd grade-equivalent black and white sketch of how my kitchen was going to look. To be honest I couldn't tell which way was up or down. At Direct Depot, not only was I able to get exactly what I wanted at the price that I wanted, but I was able to see 3D walkthrough images on a large 6 foot display. I was shocked when they were able to give me my dream kitchen at prices better than anywhere else I've been. All those knobs and door handles can add up, but not at Direct Depot. They even offer free hardware to boot! And this place is definitely the one-stop shop for cabinetry. They even offer installation services by a licensed contractor capable of taking care of more than just your installation. I actually had their installers, Paragon Installers, take out and install new windows around the entire house and add an addition. Remarkable service! The showroom is beautiful and huge... two floors of kitchens and baths, samples of every make, model, color, and glaze. They offer you coffee and other beverages and there's even a play room that my kid was able to play in while watching a Disney movie. I was even able to keep track of my son by monitoring him on a seperate display in the designer's office where we were creating my dream kitchen. If you finally want your dream kitchen, just go to this place with your measurements, your vision, and you checkbook because you certainly won't want to go anywhere else. Oh... they also offer financing just like the big boys do at those "other" brick and morters. And with deferred payments being an option as well, is there anything Direct Depot can't do? ...read more

Dangers of Paraffin Wax!

First of all, research shows that when the paraffin melts, it sets off chemical reactions that are emitted into the air you breathe. These chemicals consist of carcinogens that do not burn healthy. The American Chemical Society states that when burned, paraffin candles emit toluene, benzene, and other toxins that are linked to health issues such as asthma, eczema and cancer.Another problem with a paraffin candle is the way in which they burn. They tend to burn slowly, releasing the chemicals over a long period of time. Usually the candles are used in an enclosed space so there is no ventilation. This results in the toxic fumes being loaded into one room or space. Some researches state that homes with an asthmatic, someone with emphysema, or breathing problems, should not have paraffin candles. Others go as far as to say no one should use them due to the unknown dangers of what actually you breathe in when using a paraffin candle. In addition, most paraffin candles use metal wicks to burn. This metal is usually zinc, which released hazardous toxins into the environment as the candle burns. Hemp or clothe wicks are preferred, but usually are not found in paraffin candles. ...read more
