I've lived in Menlo Park for more than five years. The best thing about Menlo Park is downtown Menlo Park along Santa Cruz Ave. and by the train station. When I just want to hang out and read a book while eating lunch or dinner is to go down to Kepler's Books and Cafe Barrone's. I've lived here for much of my life. It's a great place. The second Peet's Coffee ever was on the corner of Santa Cruz Ave. and University. It's still there. Menlo Park is a great place for hanging out, sampling restaurants and just chilling. The main downside is the cost of living in town. Don't think that will ever change.

Tried this place out for the first time yesterday and was very pleased. Tried out their red chicken curry and brown rice. The portion wasn't too large or too small and it was a great price. I plan to go back there again soon. And I hear that it's good for take-out as well.
Nice pizza place in downtown Los Altos, certainly better than Skips, I hate to say. Service is good, and they have a good selection of salads for those looking to stay trim while laying off the pizza. Just remember to avoid the Los Altos High School rush between 12-12:30.
This place, right next to a great book store, Keplers, is a great place to hang out and chill whether it be reading or visiting with friends. The food is great and the service is really excellent. The place is family owned and hasn't waned in quality since it opened. Food is always fresh and they have great cakes.
California Ave. seems to be the forgotten street in Palo Alto, with University Ave. and Castro St. in Mountain View crowding it out. There are several really nice restaurants on this street, one of them being Cafe Brioche. A small little place, the prices are not bad at all for a great selection of French food and the service is not bad at all. I highly recommend it.
