I’m hearing that it’s not just isolated instances of bill-padding, but rather a systemic problem at Weston. One former client told me that bill-padding is very common at Weston. Thankfully, it looks like there may now be a reckoning happening vis-a-vis corrupt Weston lawyers. A Weston Hurd lawyer named Scott Smith from Pepper Pike was recently suspended for massive bill-padding and other invoice irregularities. Google ‘Scott Smith’ and ‘Weston Hurd’ and you’ll find multiple articles about this Weston Hurd lawyer’s bill-padding. But I worry that there may be many more examples of Weston Hurd lawyers who haven’t yet been caught cheating clients with excessive charges, and are allowed to just continue stealing from innocent clients.
