I am the president of the cited organization, the only non-profit in the above city. Our charter requires that we provide non-profit activities and donate the excess funds to non-profit community services organizations within the county. Our sole income is derived from authorized bingo games carried out three times each month. The games are, and have been for over a decade, held in the community center in the city, previously "owned" by the Ivanhoe Property Owners Improvement Association (IPOIA). The IPOIA recently donated the community center to the City of Ivanhoe. Presently the city requires the legally authorized Bingo equipment to be removed from the center, thus denying our organization the only means of receiving funds to complete our donation mission.
Research of ownership documentation at the County Clerk's office revealed that the IPOIA failed to meet the transfer requirements from the property developer to the IPOIA. I have in my possession copies of the agreement. This is an exigent matter due to the fact that the City demands the removal of our Bingo equipment by April 17,2017.
My hope is that a restraining order be processed long enough to allow a trial on the merits (or other appropriate actions) to be taken.
Naturally, being a non-profit organization, we would need the process to be Pro Bono since we have no organic funds.
