I made the mistake of bringing my beautiful wedding dress I inherited from my mother to Carriage Cleaners. The dress had beautiful beading and sequins and was a one of a kind dress made by a high end fashion boutique, was worth thousands of dollars and was in excellent condition. The dress was completely ruined by the cleaning service-I could not recognize the dress at ALL. To my surprise, all of sequins and beads, which were individually stitched to the dress were removed from the dress. In addition, the kremlin had shrunk by 1.5 inches all around, the color was faded, and the material looked worn and frayed. The dress was so damaged that the only way it could have turned out this way is if were placed in a washing machine. I had planned to wear the dress for my wedding scheduled in two months and I am now faced with the challenge of finding a new dress with only 101 days before my wedding. To make matters worse the store has been very uncooperative about restitution for the dress and has refused to provide the owners contact information. They also refused to return my dress and claimed that the dress was cleaned by a second party vendor, who also refuses to accept any responsibility. Avoid this cleaners, particularly for special items.
