Don't hire Munoz for a criminal case

In my experience, Munoz is incompetent and lazy. He did not explain what was going on in my legal case. I had been charged with domestic violence and had never had any contact with the legal system before. I was scared and uninformed about what to expect. I hired him on a recommendation from someone I barely knew. I don't know how anyone could recommend Munoz unless they were paid to do it.After a plea deal, I consulted with another lawyer to try to get a reality check. This lawyer did not know who I was discussing and, in any event, wouldn't have known him because he was in a different jurisdiction. The lawyer I consulted just shook his head in disbelief when I told him how Munoz handled my case.The overall complaint I have about Munoz is that he seemed to be in cahoots with the prosecutor to get my case over as soon as possible so that everyone could go on to other cases. Munoz did not try to bargain for less jail time for me in the plea agreement. He just told me, "This is what they want." and told me to take it. He didn't suggest that we try for a lower amount of jail time. He charged me $4,000 and put about 8 hours into my case, including driving time. Apart from my payment, he showed no interest in my case and he did not explain to me what was going on in my case. Given the circumstances, I had no way of knowing what to do to help prepare my defense. My legal case was completely in his disinterested hands, Munoz, as much as the prosecutor, was responsible for my conviction.
